OR Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment is Flat, Jan-24 Data
Medicaid managed care enrollment in Oregon was flat at 1.2 million in January 2024 compared to year-end 2023 after increasing 0.8% in 2023, increasing 7.3% in 2022, increasing 11% in 2021, increasing 16.3% in 2020, remaining flat in 2019, increasing 0.5% in 2018, and declining 2.8% and 8.6% in 2017 and 2016, respectively. The state had a total of 1,377,076 Medicaid members in January 2024, of which 90% were enrolled in Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs). The remaining 10% are completely covered by fee-for-service. Previous charts included other managed care enrollment such as enrollees in Mental Health Organizations and Dental Health Organizations; however, due to reporting changes, they are no longer included in the total enrollment chart.
VA Medicaid MLTSS Enrollment is Flat, Feb-24 Data
Enrollment in Virginia’s Medicaid MLTSS program, Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus, is approximately 300,000 in February 2024. Enrollment was flat compared to year-end 2023 after remaining flat in 2023, increasing 6.4% in 2022, 6.2% in 2021, 9.7% in 2020, and 14% in 2019.
VA Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment is Flat, Feb-24 Data
Medicaid managed care enrollment in Virginia is approximately 1.6 million in February 2024 compared to year-end 2023, a 0.4% decrease, after a 0.9% decrease in 2023, a 9.8% increase in 2022, a 12.7% increase in 2021, a 22.9% increase in 2020, and a 42.3% increase in 2019. The 2019 increase in enrollment is largely related to the state’s Medicaid expansion which began coverage January 1, 2019. Implementation of Medallion 4.0, the state’s traditional Medicaid managed care program covering the basic Medallion 3.0 and FAMIS populations, began August 2018.

NC Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment is Up 2%, Jan-24 Data
Enrollment in North Carolina’s Medicaid managed care program is up 2% to 2.1 million in January 2024 compared to year-end 2023. Enrollment grew 10.6% in 2023 and 9.5% in 2022. North Carolina implemented Medicaid managed care on July 1, 2021, and implemented Medicaid expansion on December 1, 2023.

SC Dual Demo Enrollment is Down 6.3%, Jan-24 Data
In January 2024, enrollment in South Carolina’s Healthy Connections Prime Medicaid coordinated and integrated care program for dual eligibles was 10,557, down 6.3% from year-end 2023. Enrollment decreased 16.1% in 2023, 11.5% in 2022, and 5.2% in 2021 and increased 12.9% in 2020, 14.3% in 2019, and 7.7% 2018.

Medicaid managed care enrollment in South Carolina was down 0.2% in January 2024 compared to year-end 2023 after a 12.6% decrease in 2023, a 7.7% increase in 2022, a 10.1% increase in 2021, a 13.9% increase in 2020, a 2.6% increase in 2019, a 1.4% increase in 2018, a 1.3% increase in 2017, and an 8.3% increase in 2016.
