Medicaid managed care enrollment in Michigan was up 2.1% in April 2020 to 1.80 million, compared to year-end 2019, after a 0.2% increase in 2019, a 1.8% decrease in 2018, a 2.2% increase in 2017, a 7.0% increase in 2016, an 11.1% increase in 2015, a 20.2% increase in 2014, and a flat showing in 2013.
MI Budget Is Further Strained by Rising Medicaid Enrollment
The Detroit News reported on May 14, 2020, that the Michigan state budget is being further strained by rising Medicaid enrollment. In the past two months, Medicaid enrollment in Michigan rose by 110,000, with a projected annual cost of as much as $500 million.
