Yesterday, Melanie Bella, Director of the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office, provided testimony to the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce regarding opportunities to improve care coordination for individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid (“dual eligibles”). As a reminder, in April the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), a division of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), announced that 15 states would be eligible for $1 million grants to support the design of integrated care models for dual eligibles.
